A very rare Faberge miniature chair is seen at Sotheby's auction house, in New York, April 10, 2007, prior to going on public display. The chair is being sold along with Russian paintings, sculpture, silver and porcelain at auction on April 16 and 17 and is expected to bring between $1-1.5m.
A pair of life-like, vivid gourds, both in the shape of a swan exhibited by Wang Jinlong (王金龙), a local farmer at a cultural relics show held in Xinyang county of east China's Shandong province on April 8, 2007. The super-large shoe, dubbed "Jiulong Xie Wang" or "King of Shoes," made its debut in Changsha in southern China's Hunan province. With nine different and lifelike dragons on the shoe, the shoe is embroidered in one of the famous Chinese embroidery styles, Hunan or Xiang embroidery.Link to CRI & CNMZ
It took 20 veteran craftsmen over two years to finish the 108-kilogram shoe which measures 3.28 meters in length, 1.2 meters in width and 0.68 meters in height.
