Paris Hilton is a singer?! The hotel socialite shows her whimsical voice in the just-released official clip of the rock musical movie Repo! The Genetic Oprea. The film was scheduled to hit the screens on November 7, 2008. The movie plot from Wikipedia:
An epidemic of organ failures devastates the planet. Panic erupts and scientists feverishly make plans for a massive organ harvest. Out of the tragedy, GeneCo, a multi-billion dollar biotech company, emerges. GeneCo provides organ transplantation for a profit. In addition to financing options, GeneCo reserves the right to implement default remedies, including repossession. For those who can't keep up with their organ payments, collection is the responsibility of "organ repo men", skilled assassins contracted by GeneCo, ordered to recover GeneCo's property by any means necessary.
At the heart of the story is Shilo Wallace (Alexa Vega), a 17 year-old girl with a rare blood disease. She has been kept locked up and protected in her house, where she is guarded from the outside world by her father, Nathan Wallace (Anthony Head). While Shilo struggles with her wish to leave the house and experience the outside world, Nathan struggles with his secret job as the Repo Man, and more specifically, his next target, a woman named Blind Mag (Sarah Brightman). Blind Mag, an opera singer, was a friend of Nathan's now-deceased wife, and is Shilo's godmother.
The Largo family, consisting of GeneCo president Rotti (Paul Sorvino), his daughter Amber (Paris Hilton), and his two sons Luigi and Pavi (Bill Moseley and Nivek Ogre, respectively), have their own plans. Rotti is dying, and the three siblings bicker and fight about who is to take the role as head of GeneCo. But, disappointed with his own children, Rotti takes an interest in Shilo.
The stories intertwine and merge at the GeneCo opera.

The first official trailer for High School Musical 3: Senior Year has been premiered on Disney.com. The HSM3 film, starring Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Tisdale, will be released in cinemas on 24 October 24, 2008.

ABBA, the Swedish foursome supergroup which have not performed in public since 1986, reunited at the Stockholm Mamma Mia! film premiere on July 4, 2008, for the first time in 22 years. All four ABBA original members - Benny Andersson, Björn Ulvaeus, Anni-Frid Lyngstad - known as Frida - and Agnetha Fältskog attended the event. The soon-to-be released film Mamma Mia! features 22 ABBA songs including Dancing Queen, Money, Money, Money and Take a Chance on Me.

A vintage poster from original 1933-version King Kong blockbuster, 81 by 81 inches in size, has been auctioned for US$345,000 at the auction house Profiles in History in Calabas, California. Hannah Montana Open Casting Call in Nashville April 6
Disney is to film the Hannah Montana film in Nashville May 6. But apparently they don't have enough extras for the motion picture movie. So Hannah Montana fans can have an opportunity to appear in the film together with the 15-year-old pop sensation Miley Cyrus. According to Tennessean.com, an open casting call will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on April 6 at Sommet Center, 501 Broadway. For those interested in becoming the background actors, decide on yourself wether or not to go to audit after reading the following requirement.
The background actors — who will have non-speaking parts — could work one day to several weeks, and an average of 12 to 14 hours each day, according to Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures national publicity office.
People who want to be considered must bring a recent 4-inch by 6-inch snapshot and a pen. Adults must accompany minor children at the call and during any work. No experience is necessary.

Tobey Maguire Producing "Afterburn" Movie
Spider-Man actor Tobey Maguire is teaming up with the producer of the "Fast and the Furious" films Neil Moritz to adopt the newly published comic book series Afterburn for a new sci-fi movie. From eFluxmedia.com
Tobey Maguire is attached to produce the post-Apocalyptic project together with Neal Moritz and his Original Films company, who previously produced the “Fast and Furious” films.
The project is based on the Red 5 comic written by Paul Ens and Scott Chitwood, founders of Red 5 Comics. “Afterburn” is drawn by Wayne Nichols. The first issue of the comic book hit stands in January. There is no writer attached for the adaptation yet.
The story begins one year after a solar flare has burned half of the planet and centers on a group of treasure hunters who dare to go back to the scorched portion to retrieve valuable artifacts, cultural icons such as the Mona Lisa, the Rosetta Stone and England’s Crown Jewels, explains the Hollywood Reporter.
They also face danger from rival treasure hunters, mutants and pirates.
