Death Plunge

An unexpectedly deadly accident happened to two Malaysian special forces commandos who were were killed during free-fall parachute training in Negeri Malaca.
L/Kpl Roslan Ibrahim, 29, from Gua Musang, Kelantan, and his trainer Warrant Officer Abdul Razak Awang, 42, from Kuala Kurau, Perak, died after a mid-air collision between the two at about 4,000ft.

Roslan had jumped from a fixed wing aircraft at 8,000ft high, and his parachute opened, said Kol Che Hashim Ishak, Commandant of the Special Warfare Training Centre.

After jumping from the aircraft, Abdul Razak collided with Roslan at a height of 4,000ft and both plunged to the ground.

Abdul Razak, who had not opened his parachute yet, landed on the roof of a house in Taman Bidara Jaya, while Roslan, whose parachute tore as a result of the mishap, landed in a rubber tree.
