Meet Jaden Lujan, the 9-year-old girl from California, who help her mom deliver a baby boy at home.

Last Wednesday on September 10 when a 7-month-pregnant Valerie Lujan suddenly began having contractions, there was nobody around but the 9-year-old daughter Jaden Lujan.

Under the guidance from 911 emergency dispatchers, Jaden calmly used a shoelace to tie off the baby's umbilical cord and safely delivered her younger brother weighing 3 pounds and 8 ounces to the world before the paramedics arrived.

"She was very brave. She didn't show any signs of panic," mom Valerie said in the TV interview (video above).

So, how did Jaden Lujan handle a situation that most of girls at her age most probably wouldn't encounter?

"You know, I think my face was the first face he saw, like because his eyes were open when he came out. So, he was like staring up at me. Then, he started peeing." Jaden Lujan said of her special delivery. Link

Kiron, a two-headed boy, was born on August 25 in the Muslims-dominated South Asia's Bangladesh. The newly-born kid, weighing 5.5 kilograms, was given the birth via the Caesarean-section by his 22-year-old mother in the small town Keshobpur, about 140 kilometers away from the country's capital Dhakah.

According to gynaecologist Mohamad Abdul Bari, Kiron developed from one embryo but due to a developmental anomaly he got two heads. Other than that, the little totter has one stomach, one genital organ, four limbs and can eat normally with his two mouths.

Update: Two-headed baby Kiron passed away after he was taken home because his parents could not pay the expensive fees for the medical care  in the hospital.

Cranofacial Duplication Baby Born With Two Faces

Craniofacial duplication [wiki], or known as Diprosopus, is an extremely rare congenital disorder whereby part or all of the face is duplicated on the head. Although classically considered conjoined twinning, this anomaly is not normally due to the fusion or incomplete separation of two embryos. It is the result of a protein called Sonic hedgehog homolog (SHH).

In such a rare case, an Indian baby girl named Lali was born with two faces last month. Baby Lali's facial features are duplicated (four eyes, two noses, and two mouths) with the exception of her ears - she has two. Now one month old, this baby with two faces who was claimed by her villagers  as the reincarnation of the Indian God Ganesha, was said doing well.

"She drinks milk from her two mouths and opens and shuts all the four eyes at one time," the director of Saifi Hospital, Sabir Ali, said.

"She is leading a normal life with no breathing difficulties.''
He said he saw no need for surgery. ...

"Her mother, Sushma, told The Hindustan Times her daughter was "just like any other child".

The doctor said everything is normal when she was born. So where's the need to get medical help?" 24-year-old Kumar said.

"She's fed through one mouth and sucks her thumb with the other. We use whichever mouth is free to feed her."

Jyoti Amge, an 58-cm-long Achondroplasia Dwarfism Girl in India, Is World's Smallest Teen Girl (Pictures)

 

Jyoti Amge, 15, just about 59.69 cm in height and 5.25 kg in weight, is the world's smallest girl recognized by the Indian Book of Records. Jyoti Amge from Nagpur of central India, has a form of dwarfism called achondroplasia [wiki]. According to mum Ranjana,there seemed nothing wrong at Jyoti's birth, but they came to know about her disorder when she was five. Now fully grown, Amge who won't grow any taller than her current height, enjoys her life with full confidence for the future.

She said: 'I am proud of being small. I love all the attention I get. I'm not scared of being small and I don't regret it.

'I'm just the same as other people. I eat like you, dream like you. I don't feel any different.'

Jyoti is treated like a mini-celebrity in her home town, where people flock to meet her and some even treat her like a goddess.

She will even be releasing an album with her favourite Indian pop star, the bhangra/rap star Mika Singh.

Jyoti is ambitious and hopes to work as a Bollywood actress one day.

She said: 'I would love to work in a big city like Mumbai, act in films and travel to London and America.

In 2006, Nepal's 14-year-old 50-centimeter-tall Khagendra Thapa Magar's apply to Guinness World Records to be the world's shortest man but was dismissed. Thapa Magar was promised to review his application once he grows to 18 years old. It's not clear now if Jyoti Amge will make the similar application to be the world's shortest woman.

Mohammed al-Rashidi, 11, Marries 10-year-old Cousin in Saubi Arab

The child marriage is probably banned by most of countries on the plantet, but apparently not in the ultra-conservative Muslim kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Mohammed al-Rashidi, an 11-year-old Saudi boy, has just married 10-year-old cousin! #_#

Mohammed al-Rashidi and his unidentified cousin will seal the marriage they contracted under the sharia laws of Islam and move in together after a ceremony to take place in the summer, Al-Shams newspaper said.

"I am ready for this marriage. It will help me study better," Mohammed, who goes to primary school in the northern province of Hail, was quoted as saying by Al-Shams.

"I invite all my classmates to do like me," the boy said, adding that he wanted to "crown a love story through marriage".

The schoolboy's father, Muraizak al-Rashidi, told the newspaper he was busy sending out invitations for a summer celebration to seal the marriage.

Dahim al-Jaber, the headmaster at Mohammed's school, said marriage at such a young age was "inappropriate" but wished the couple a happy life together.

Not to blame the little couple as they are so young and illerate, their parents should definitely know what the INBREEDING is!

13-year-old Wins US Texting Champion With $25000 Prize

Morgan Pozgar , a 13-year-old girl from Claysburg of Pennsylvania, was crowned the US Texting Champion together with a top prize of $25,000 at an message typing contest in New York after beating 250 competitors from across the country.

She clinched the title with a quickfire error-free rendition of 'Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious! Even though the sound of it is something quite atrocious. If you say it loud enough you'll always sound precocious'.

In the final, Morgan at first seemed to have been beaten by Eli Tirosh, a 21-year-old law student from Los Angels, who put down her mobile phone first, only for the judges to rule that she had made a typing error.

She trained by sending on average 8,000 text messages a month to her friends - that rate equates one every five and a half minutes. She pays $US10 a month for an unlimited text package on her mobile phone.

The girl plans to do some shopping with her prize money in Manhaton, while her mother has already eyed it for her college fund.

10-years-old Saved by Sunroof from a High Fall

Rong Rong, a 10-year-old girl, fell from a 12th-storey balcony while watering flowers.

She wound up with only minor injuries after she plunged through the open sunroof of a Honda Civic and landed on a padded seat in Changsha, Hunan.

The incident took place in the city's Mingdu Garden housing estate in the evening. She was immediately sent to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment.

She was not in danger but did have fractured a bone in her left hand and bruised some soft tissues on the other parts of her body

Autistic Boy Learns Talk from Pet Parrot

Dylan Hargreaves , 4, has a vocabulary of only 10, one-syllable words after being diagnosed with severe learning difficulties since three years ago. But the autistic boy is now being helped to talk by a pet macaw his mother received as a gift from her partner last year. From Lancashire Telegraph

His parents have been amazed by his progress after he began listening to his mother teaching the family's pet bird, Barney.

For as Michelle, 33, of Broughton Close, Blackburn, tells the bird a new word, Dylan has started to say it too.

He has already learned how to say ta' and bye' through listening to the macaw in the last few months.

And now his parents believe he is just days away from saying his first two-syllable word - Barney!

She said: "Every time I gave the bird something to say Dylan started trying to say the same thing.

"I think it's because the bird says it slower than me, which helps Dylan to understand it better.

"He has changed my life and Dylan's because before he would not even have attempted words with two syllables."

This Australia's Toddler can Ride Waves for More Than 50m

This kid named Jaylan Amor is very incredible! At a mere age of two years old , he has been dubbed as Australia's pint-sized wave king and won the sponsorship deals with surf businesses for himself.

"No one here [on the Gold Coast] has ever seen anyone this young surf before – he's just incredible," dad Peter said.

Jaylan's surfing skill came as no surprise though, as his four-year-old sister Shayla learned to surf a year ago.

"They both took to swimming like ducks to water and love the beach. Their mum and I were keen surfers when we were younger, so I guess our kids have got it in their blood," Mr Amor said.

Jaylan sits on his board while his dad paddles out to the open water. The toddler then hops up and rides waves back to the beach, sometimes cruising along for more than 50m.

Newly-born Chinese Baby Looks Like Alien

The birth of a baby is normally a generous gift of God to a family. But this is apparently not for Ms. Li Hui-Ying, a villager from Zhaixia Town of Yuanzhou District of Yichun City in the central of China's Jiangxi Province. She has naturally delivered her son at a community clinic on 22 March, however, all of a sudden, her family was brought to a shock. The baby as shown in the picture above looks so weird. His eyes look like frog's eyes. There are two big bumps bearing on two sides of his head and one small tail (picture below) on his bottom. Even though the boy's eating, drinking and sleeping is normal, his parents still try to bring him to treat in the hospital. What the most his parents worry about is that, currently, no local hospitals are able to treat this poor boy as they've never seen this case before in the area! Link

Footless "Basketball Girl" Gets New Limbs

She is a girl named Qian Hongyan (钱红艳), from Luliang County of China's southwest Yunnan Province. On October 21 of 2000, she, then 4 years old, was hit and run over by a rule-breaking truck laden with fertilizers when she was crossing a road. To save her life, doctors had to amputate both her legs and part of her lower torso. Since then she became a miserable half-body person, and lost the normal life that she should otherwise have had. Her family members once tried to use barrels and tires to replace her feet before her maternal grandfather found the basketball. He cut a circle from the ball and set her on it. When she walked, little Hongyan can only slowly move around after she had to use her hands holding a pair of specially designed wooden handle bars to lift up her body. Such a unique but very strenuous walking life didn't come to the end until January 2005 when docotors from China Rehabilitation Research Center in Beijing noticed Hongyan and vowed to have her up by fitting with a set of prosthetic legs. Eventually They made it in May 2005!
