The wife of Scientologist/actor Tom Cruise has supposedly underwent Scientology's Purification Rundown (Purif) ritual which turned her hands dark/purple.

Katie Holmes is well on track to be Tom Cruise's fellow scientologist. She even defied the risk that the extreme high dosages of multiple vitamins premix used in the ritual to extract 'toxins' out from her body may bring to her health.

Peeps going through the process take 'vitamin bombs' to get 'toxins' out of their bodies.

A source says that in almost every single case, Scientology founder Hubbard recommends dosages in his teachings that are well above the safe limits, in some cases as much as 142 times more than the toxic level. The side effects of such huge overdoses range from liver damage, hair loss, brain swelling and nausea up to fatal heart and respiratory failure.

The cleanse also prescribes huge doses of something called niacin. A report says large doses of niacin can cause liver damage, peptic ulcers, and skin rashes. Even normal doses can be associated with skin flushing.

Islam Overtakes Roman Catholicism As the World's Largest Religion

Islam has surpassed Roman Catholicism as the world's largest religion, Reuters cited Vatican newspaper L'Osservatore Romano as reporting.

Islam has overtaken Roman Catholicism as the biggest single religious denomination in the world, the Vatican said on Sunday.

Monsignor Vittorio Formenti, who compiled the Vatican's newly-released 2008 yearbook of statistics, said Muslims made up 19.2 percent of the world's population and Catholics 17.4 percent.

"For the first time in history we are no longer at the top: the Muslims have overtaken us," Formenti told Vatican newspaper L'Osservatore Romano in an interview, saying the data referred to 2006.

He said that if all Christian groups were considered, including Orthodox churches, Anglicans and Protestants, then Christians made up 33 percent of the world's population -- or about 2 billion people.

The Vatican recently put the number of Catholics in the world at 1.13 billion people. It did not provide a figure for Muslims, generally estimated at around 1.3 billion.

Formenti said that while the number of Catholics as a proportion of the world's population was fairly stable, the percentage of Muslims was growing because of higher birth rates.

Chihuahua Conan Is a Japanese Dog's Prayer (Pictures)

Chihuahua Conan is a pet dog raised by chief priest Joei Yoshikuni at the Japanese Zen temple Shuri-Kannondo in Okinawa islands. Conan has now become a celebrity in Japan because this unique canine can 'pray' before the altar by mimicing its master!

The path to inner peace is long and arduous. But sitting on his hind legs, paws raised in reverence before the altar, this enlightened canine may just have discovered the key.

Against a backdrop of swirling incense and solemn chanting, the one-and-a-half-year-old, black-and-white Chihuahua cuts a cheerfully unlikely figure, as he loyally mimics his proud master during morning prayers at the Shuri Kannondo temple in southern Japan.

The devoted animal, known as Conan, hasn't just secured inner harmony for himself, either. His presence at daily prayers has also made headlines across Japan, helping to swell visitor numbers to the Zen Buddhist temple by more than 30 per cent – thereby putting worshippers on their own path to enlightenment.

Conan, originally a temple pet, rises without prompting before his morning and evening meals to go through his prayer routine at the temple in Naha, capital of Okinawa. When his master chants his prayers, known as "sutras", Conan raises his paws and joins them at the tip of his nose.

"It's so funny that he does it," says Kazuko Oshiro, 71, who has frequented the temple for more than 25 years. "He gets angry when somebody else sits on his favourite spot. He must be thinking that it's his special place."

When asked the secret of the dog's devotion, Yoshikuni reveals: "Clasping hands is a basic action of Buddhist prayer to show appreciation. He may be showing his thanks for treats and walks."

Mohammed al-Rashidi, 11, Marries 10-year-old Cousin in Saubi Arab

The child marriage is probably banned by most of countries on the plantet, but apparently not in the ultra-conservative Muslim kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Mohammed al-Rashidi, an 11-year-old Saudi boy, has just married 10-year-old cousin! #_#

Mohammed al-Rashidi and his unidentified cousin will seal the marriage they contracted under the sharia laws of Islam and move in together after a ceremony to take place in the summer, Al-Shams newspaper said.

"I am ready for this marriage. It will help me study better," Mohammed, who goes to primary school in the northern province of Hail, was quoted as saying by Al-Shams.

"I invite all my classmates to do like me," the boy said, adding that he wanted to "crown a love story through marriage".

The schoolboy's father, Muraizak al-Rashidi, told the newspaper he was busy sending out invitations for a summer celebration to seal the marriage.

Dahim al-Jaber, the headmaster at Mohammed's school, said marriage at such a young age was "inappropriate" but wished the couple a happy life together.

Not to blame the little couple as they are so young and illerate, their parents should definitely know what the INBREEDING is!

Pope Got15,001 Pairs of Shoes

During a visit to this northern city known as Italy's shoe capital, a local consortium gave one pair for himself and 15,000 more pairs for the needy around the world.

The Pope was given burgundy-colored loafers designed and manufactured by the Moreschi firm and made from kangaroo hide.

Those destined for the poor include boots and other types of footwear. Local industrialists are due to send them directly to charities chosen by the Vatican.

World's Largest Jade Buddha Statue

Anshan Jade Buddha is the largest jade Buddha statue in the world. It is located in Dongshan Scenic Reserve, Liaoning province, China.

The statue was sculpted from a piece of jade 7.95 meters high, 6.88 meters wide, 4.10 meters thick, weighing 260.76 tons. This piece of jade was found in the nearby Xiuyan town, known as "hometown of jade", on 22 July 1960.

Bahrain Athlete Lost Citizenship After Attending an Israeli Marathon

Mushir Salem Jawher (Leonard Mucheru), the first athlete from an Arab country, who ran and won a marathon in Israel without permission has been stripped of his citizenship by the adopted country Bahrain which has no official ties with the Jewish state.

Bahrain's sport authorities said Mushir Salem Jawher, who was born in Kenya but moved to Bahrain in 2003, had violated the laws of the country. He won the Tiberias Marathon in just over two hours and 13 minute.

"This is outside the rules and he went to Israel without telling anyone," Mohammed Abdul Jalal, the head of the Bahrain Athletics Association, told Reuters news agency.

In a statement issued on Saturday, the Bahrain Athletic Association said it had received news that a Bahraini national had competed in Israel with "shock and regret".

A committee of sport and government authorities decided to strike Mr Jawher's name off the sport union records and revoke his Bahraini nationality, the statement said.
